Apr 16, 2012 Zodiac in daily use at Aquarium of the Pacific To test the extreme durability of the Zodiac BC, which utilizes Sherwood Scuba’s revolutionary idea of using TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) in the BC air-cell, Sherwood placed the Zodiac into daily use at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California for an entire year. The BC was dove at least 800 times, both in the aquarium display tanks and in the open ocean. Incredibly, the Zodiac survived this rigorous testing protocol virtually unscathed, with only the most minor wear and tear. In fact, the Zodiac looks almost new and the air-cell is in pristine condition. Today, the nonprofit Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach CA currently uses the Zodiac BC for its durable qualities and its TPU material. Back to testimonials
